Skiing - Lesson 6

Our final lesson today at Hillend and although pretty foggy we had a great last lesson.

We have worked hard over the last 6 weeks and many of us have gained our Level 1 in skiing intruction with the rest of us receiving an Introduction to Skiing certificiate.

Offer the 6 weeks we have learned to:
  • Control our snow plough
  • Control our speed
  • Stop while going down hill
  • Use the tows confidently
  • Turn as we move down the slope

Each week we moved further up the slope and with this everyone's confidence increased as well.

We are all very proud of our achievements.

Mean, Mode, Median and Range

Over the last couple of weeks we have been looking at averages in Maths and have been learning about Mode, Mean, Median and Range.

To demonstrate our understanding we made flipbooks showing others what mode, mean, median and range are and giving examples.

Some of us were able to create Pic Collages too.

We have also played lots of games in class using books and dice to create sets of numbers and use them to work out mode, mean, median and range. We are now very confident in this area of Maths.

Skiing - Lesson 5

What a beautiful day it was for skiing. Blue skies and glorious sunshine! We really have been lucky with our weather this year.

More progress made today and lots of enthusiasm from the group. Not as many photos today however as Miss McArthur was dealing with a few minor injuries!

Next week she will be snap happy since its the final week.

Skiing - lesson 4

Wow! We are making super progress. All using the tow today and one group are racing up the hill. Stick in there and you may get to the top :)

A lot less falling over today and all definitely getting the hang of it. All smiles today and no moans and groans.

Great stuff P6!
